Scavenge ants, win festival tickets!

Music festivals and scavenger hunts: These are a few of our favorite things!

So when we learned last week that our friends at Red Ants Pants Music Festival are combining the two to promote the three-day event in late July, we just about lost our minds.

Apparently festival organizers have stationed enormous hand-sewn red ants at small businesses in several of Montana’s more quaint communities – and all you have to do is snap a selfie with a couple of them and you could win a pair of VIP passes!

Seriously, how could this not be the coolest thing ever? Not only does it give you a GREAT reason to get out and explore some of Montana’s hidden gems, but these passes are truly a serious win: Three days of live music, complimentary beverages and shaded seating in the VIP tent – plus free food, festival shirts and a gift bag … for two?!?! If you bought a similar package it would cost you a good thousand bucks.

And here’s the best part: The scavenger hunt fits perfectly with the White Sulphur Springs festival’s mission to support small-town Montana and its people.

Event proceeds to create more than $85,000 in grants to support rural, agricultural communities and local women’s leadership projects, according to Red Ants Pants Foundation executive director Sarah Calhoun.

“It’s an incredibly fun way to encourage folks to support rural communities throughout the state while helping festival attendees more fully understand the contributions they are making in support of the Red Ants Pants Foundation every time they buy a ticket,” Calhoun said.

Here’s a list of towns involved in the scavenger hunt: Big Timber, Cut Bank, Dillon, White Sulpur Springs and Wibaux.

Go find the ants and then send them to info@redantspantsmusicfestival.com by midnight on Sunday, July 9, to qualify for the giveaway. Follow the festival’s Twitter feed @RedAntsPantsAnt for clues to help you along the way.

And if you’re not feeling patient, tickets for the festival are on sale now HERE.

Good luck, and hope to see you out there antin’ around!
