Sad news to report folks - due to the rather smokey conditions, both the 4-mile Fun Run AND the Roots Fest SUP Classic need to be CANCELLED this year. If you pre-registered for the fun run, Run Wild Missoula WILL be handing out the race packets with the free t-shirt and other Roots goodies at the race starting line area. SUP goodies will be handed out at the start this morning as well if you had planned on racing.
PLEASE NOTE, however, that the rest of Roots Fest (music, art show, Family Fun Fest, etc.) WILL continue on as planned! We'll see you Downtown later today!
Born in Jamaica, Clinton Fearon moved to Seattle in 1987 and formed the Boogie Brown Band in 1993. They made their first showing at Roots Fest as the headliner in 2012 and look forward to returning to the heart of Missoula. Fearon’s songwriting comes from the heart of a man who dedicates his life to building a better world. With reggae, poetry, and a long life of experience, Clinton Fearon is joined by seven others in the Boogie Brown Band for a tantalizing performance.
Amanda Shaw made her first appearance on the Roots Stage in 2010 as kid wonder. She had the crowd dancing on their toes with her fiery fiddle playing that was smokin’ hot. Today the 24-year-old is integrating her roots sound into the mainstream that reflects her girl-powered sassiness, sharp witty lyrics, and fashion as a statement of distinction. Shaw make her first national-stage appearance as an elementary school student and has played in front of large crowds since she was 10-years-old. This fiddle player is one of the best in the country and brings with her a group of “Cute Guys” to back her up.
